HKEX Foundation Supports Sports Legacy Scheme

SF&OC launched the Sports Legacy Scheme (SLS) in 2012 and became a charitable institution under the section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance of Hong Kong. The Scheme arranges for participating professional athletes who are planning to retire or retired to provide sports training to under-privileged students, spreading the positive values of sports and the Olympism spirit. Meanwhile, the Sports Legacy Scheme always thrives on the support of the public and private sectors.

After a special Gong-strike ceremony to open afternoon trading was held today at HKEX Connect Hall, HKEX Foundation announced a HK$500,000 sponsorship to Sports Legacy Scheme to support the latter’s work in promoting sports among under-privileged families. At the ceremony, Mr. Timothy FOK, President of SF&OC and Former cycling world champion representing Hong Kong and Deputy Manager of Sports Legacy Scheme, Wong Kam-po, received the cheque of HK$500,000 on behalf of the Sports Legacy Scheme from Mr. Nicolas Aguzin, HKEX Chief Executive Officer.

The details of the sponsored programme will be announced later. SF&OC would like to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the HKEX Foundation for supporting the work of the SLS in sports promotion and athlete development.
